The CARMA 2024 Conference proudly offers a grant program for students. This initiative aims to foster student participation in the areas of economics and social sciences, particularly focusing on research in Internet and Big Data.
Grant details
- Eligibility: Open to students of any institution with a paper accepted for the conference, and to UPV students. Applicants must be currently enrolled in undergraduate, graduate, or Ph.D. programs.
- Award: Grants cover the full conference registration fee. A select number of grants will also provide partial financial assistance for travel and accommodation expenses.
Application requirements
- Accepted paper. The student must be the major contributor to a paper accepted in the conference program.
- Letter of Recommendation: A recommendation letter from a faculty member or academic advisor stating that the student carries at least 50% of a normal full-time academic program as a registered student, and approximately what was the student’s contribution in percent to the paper.
- Proof of Enrollment: Current proof of enrollment from your academic institution.
Only one student author per paper will be awarded a grant. A recipient of the student grant is required to participate in and present their paper at the conference. Reimbursement will be issued solely to those who provide an expense report, including receipts, within 45 days following the conference’s conclusion.
How to apply
Please, have the following documents prepared when applying for the grant:
- Student’s up-to-date CV /resume
- Advisor Recommendation Letter.
- Student Statement Letter, including a brief summary of research interests and accomplishments to date, and a statement of the purpose of attending the conference
- Estimate of travel costs. This is just an estimate of what the grant money would be used towards, including conference registration, airfare, and hotel.
